What happens if my payment fails?

Understand how failed charges are handled and how to restore access.

Written by Michael Tona

Cards expire and banks flag charges. When a Hubfluence payment fails, you do not get cut off immediately. Here is what happens and how to restore access.

Quick answer

When a payment fails, Stripe retries the charge up to three times over several days and emails you to update your card. If every retry fails, your access pauses and active sequences stop sending, but no data is deleted. To restore access, update your card under Settings, Billing, and the system recharges and reactivates your account within a few minutes.

What happens when a charge fails

Stripe does not immediately cut you off. It retries the charge up to three times across several days, and you get email reminders along the way prompting you to update your payment method.

If every retry fails, a few things happen automatically: your Hubfluence access pauses, any active outreach sequences stop sending, and you need a working card on file before service resumes. None of your data is deleted during this window, so you will not lose creator lists, message history, or sequence settings.

How to restore access

Restoring access is straightforward. Go to Settings, open the Billing tab, and click Edit Payment Information to swap in a working card. The system auto-charges the new method right after, and your account is back live within a few minutes.

What if the new card is declined?

If the new card still gets declined, the culprit is usually on your bank's end. International cards sometimes need approval before Stripe can run them, and some banks throw a hold on subscription charges by default. A quick call to your bank's fraud line usually clears it.
